With your subscription to this ezine, you received Veronica Lim's
report, "17 Things that can Stop You Dead in Your Tracks from
Creating Lifetime Wealth."
The list of things that Veronica compiled is an excellent summary
of how many people sabotage themselves in their personal and
business growth. I've found in working with hundreds of people in
my seminars and speeches that some of these - negative self
talk, no clear vision and lack of focus - are almost universal.
But there is also one more that Veronica didn't mention, and it
is everywhere!
It's being overly concerned about the opinions of others.
Now, we all want to be liked. It's almost wired in our genes as a
survival mechanism, and we're social critters, too. Friendships
are a very important part of a fulfilled life.
The issue is - friendships with whom?
"There are three kinds of people in the world - the wills, the won'ts
and the can'ts." - Harvey Mackay
Mackay has a good point. In my experience, the wills are heavily
outnumbered by the other two. When we allow the opinions of
negative and unsupportive people to influence what we do, we're
doomed.
What kind of feedback do you get from the people around you? Do
they tell you why it "won't" work? Do they worry that you "can't" do
it? Are they well meaning people that kindly tell you that you're
nuts for having a big goal or dream?
Then there's the classic knife-in-the-back - "Let's be reasonable!"
A minister, concerned about a young boy's single-minded
obsession with the Olympics, told 13 year old Milt Campbell, "Let's
be reasonable, son. We're not really going to the Olympics, are we?"
Milt replied, "No, sir, WE aren't......but I am." He went on to
win the Silver, and then the Gold Medal in the Decathalon.
Get this - no one EVER achieved a big dream by being reasonable!
Successful people are by nature unreasonable. They refuse to
accept the status quo and to settle for the mediocre results that
everyone else gets.
If no one has ever told you that you're nuts, your dream is probably
too small.
Earl Nightingale put it this way - "Don't worry about what the
neighbors think, because they don't!"
This doesn't mean you have to live a life of isolation. There are
people, and plenty of them, that will be supportive and
encouraging to you in every way. Set your intention to attract
people like that into your life. Open your eyes and look for them.
(We'll be talking about intention in the next issue).
This may mean that you have to make some room in your life by
clearing out some negative folks. The Vaccuum Law of Prosperity
says you have to release the old to make room for the new.
In my seminars the question often comes up, "What if these
negative people are family?" Unfortunately many times they are.
Just follow Bob Proctor's advice - "Don't go as often and don't stay
as long." Envision yourself encased in a thin, invisible shield
while you're around them and let the negativity roll right off.
Here's a very important point - be very selective about who you share
your dreams and goals with! Keep it to a small, carefully chosen
group who have demonstrated that they will unconditionally support
and encourage you.
And while you're at it, unconditionally support and encourage others.
It will come back to you a hundredfold!

Our problem is your opportunity! We've got a small number of
"Mission in Commission" programs with cassette tapes left.
Since the CD version is now available, we want to clear these
out.
We're practically giving them away at 60% off! But only until these few are gone. Get the details here:

Article #2 - Mind Matters
There are good reasons for us to avoid negative people,
besides the fact that they're no fun to be around. These
reasons involve our friend - the subconscious mind.
We know that our creative power is directed by this part
of our mind. We may have all kinds of lofty goals in our
conscious, thinking mind, but it's the subconscious that
calls the shots.
Here's the key - we don't ever get what we want, we get
what we expect. And negative people expect the worse.
When we listen to negativity, we fill our mind with the
wrong expectations. We worry. And worry is prayer for
what we don't want.
We create the right expectations by filling our mind and our
environment with positive, supportive and encouraging
ideas and expectations. We want to go from "I think I can"
to "I believe I can" to "I know I can" to "I expect it!"
Once we get to expectation, it's a done deal. Our subconscious
shifts into overdrive to make it manifest in our life.
Doubt, fear, worry and negativity interrupts this process. They
send conflicting instructions to the mind like a malfunctioning
traffic light flashing "Stop", "Go", "Stop", "Go".
To know at any time whether you are in a positive mindset,
keep in touch with your feelings, because feeling right only
comes from thinking right. A good way to switch to feeling
right is with gratitude. Write down ten things that you're really,
really thankful that you have in your life. Notice how that makes
you feel. And kiss the negativity goodbye!
